Dr. DeJong (pronounced “DeYoung”) is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, board-certified in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry, who practices in a biopsychosocial model.  For 14 years she has practiced individual psychotherapy with medication management as needed.   She also works with parents of children with mental health, developmental, or learning difficulties to provide parental guidance. She embraces a wide range of evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy to best serve the needs of each individual patient.

A former high-school teacher, Dr. DeJong has extensive experience working with adolescents and their families.  She works regularly with school counseling personnel to support the needs of her patients as students.

Dr. DeJong is also directs a training program in child psychiatry at Harvard Medical School where she is an Assistant Clinical Professor.
